PATTAYA – Pattaya Tourist Police inspector Pol Maj Piyapong Ensan has reported that the Tourist police will ask Chon Buri civil authorities to order the temporary closure of a go-go bar in South Pattaya following an attack on a 55-year-old Polish man by one of bar’s bouncers.

Authorities said Rafal Ignacy Jakowicki a Polish tourist sustained forehead injuries when he was attacked by a bouncer armed with a metal hook at the Skyfall go-go bar in the early hours of Monday morning.

According to the Bangkok Post, Pattaya Officials, led by Pattaya Tourist Police inspector Pol Maj Piyapong Ensan, went to the  Skyfall bar, on Walking Street in Bang Lamung district, on Monday night.

Police reported that Mr. Jakowicki was drunk and caused problems, 2 bouncers from the bar, Ekkapol Krachoenlam, 28, and Panu Limchoo, 33, were called inside and asked him to leave. Instead he resisted and punched Mr Ekkapol in the mouth, Mr Panu then grabbed a steel hook from behind the door and attacked the tourist.

Police detained Mr Panu on charges of assault causing physical and mental harm to another person.

During the police inspection on Monday night, urine samples from all 77 bar dancers and 19 other staff were tested for drugs. All were negative.

A barman told police the nightclub was operated legally by Supattra Cholpon, 24, but he could not show an operating permit and was told to present it to authorities later.

A source said tourist police would submit a letter via Bang Lamung authorities to the Chon Buri Governor asking him to order the temporary closure of the bar because the incident had “tarnished the image” of Pattaya and Thailand as a destination for tourists.
