Bhumjaithai Party Chooses Experienced Candidates

The Bhumjaithai Party says the people at the top end of its party list, registered today, were all selected for their experience and abilities.

Bhumjaithai spokesman Supachai Jaisamut said on Thursday the party gave importance to work experience   when deciding the order for candidates at the top of the its party list for the July 3 general election.

The party’s decision to put grassroots leader Supathinan Thawaisin, alias Aunt Sa-ing, at No.15  showed that the party was sincere about wanting to solve the problems faced by the poor, said Mr Supachai.

He expressed confidence that the party would be well received by voters at the polls.

The party will kick off its election campaign next week with five major campaign rallies — in Nakhon Ratchasima, Pathum Thani, Saraburi, Surin and Chiang Rai provinces, he said. The first campaign rally will be  at Lamtakhong in Nakhon Ratchasima.

Asked about the drawing of No.16 on the ballot list by Bhumjaithai leader Chavarat Charnvirakul, he said  the party  consulted a Chinese fortune teller who said it was an auspicious number.

Mr Supachai said it was also the same number Bhumjaithai de facto leader Newin Chidchob drew when he contested an election for the first time in Buri Ram province and was elected.

The party would put up campaign posters across the country, including Bangkok where the party would field only one candidate in a constuency, Ms Supamas  Issarapakdi, he said.
