BANGKOK – A Thai anti-graft commission says it will stop investigating asset concealment allegations against the prime minister after finding no grounds in the claims, leaving her premiership intact.

National Anti-Corruption Commission chief Klanarong Chanthick said Thursday that the commissioners agreed unanimously that there were no irregularities in Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s asset declaration.

The preliminary probe involved Yingluck’s disclosure that she had given a $1 million loan to her husband’s company. Klanarong said the commission would keep evidence for any future investigations.

Yingluck said she was relieved and ready to continue her job.

Yingluck’s brother, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, was accused of failing to declare share transfers made to proxies, jeopardizing his premiership, but a court found him not guilty.

Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has net assets worth 541 million baht ($17 million), an anti-corruption body said Wednesday, far less than the wealth of her brother Thaksin.

Yingluck’s nine-year-old son has 4.4 million baht while her common law husband declared 76.8 million baht in assets, along with debt of 369.7 million baht, according to the independent National Counter Corruption Commission.

Yingluck, whose assets include property and other investments, is not the richest member of her cabinet — that place goes to science and technology minister Plodprasop Suraswadi with 963 million baht.
