American Expat in Krabi Hangs Himself in Apparent Suicide
KRABI – Deputy investigator Pol Capt Sanya Gaeonui of Mueang Krabi Provincial Police has reported that 65-year-old American English teacher William Patrick was found dead in his home from an apparent suicide.
Pol Capt Sanya Gaeonui said a medical examiner from Krabi Hospital and volunteers from Prachasuntisook Rescue Foundation, found Mr William lying on the ground at the back of his house with a nylon rope around his neck, that was attached to a window frame, the Thaiwrath reported.
The 38 year-old Thai wife, Wongduan Lunla, told police that she returned home from work at noon and found the body of William Patrick hung from a rope tied to a window frame.
She told police her husband had recently quit working as an English teacher at a Krabi boarding school, saying he became depressed after he left his work and stayed at home.
Patrick’s body has been sent to Krabi Hospital for further examination.
Meanwhile in Phuket,tThe deputy honorary consul for the Russian Federation, Santi Udomkiratak, was killed in a road accident early on Wednesday, according to media reports.
Police said the accident occurred about 1.50am at the three-way intersection on Dao Rung Tad Mai in tambon Wichit, Phuket province.
Mr Santi, 50, was driving his black Mercedes-Benz E250 along the road, returning to his home in tambon Chalong, when his vehicle rammed into the rear end of a six-wheeled truck which had stopped for a red light. He was killed by the impact.
His vehicle was badly damaged and police and rescue workers had to pry it open to remove his body.
