4.0 Earthquake Reported in Surat Thani

At 12.18 pm today, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 on the Richter scale was reported with the epicenter at Khao Phang sub-district, Ban Ta Khun district, in Surat Thani province, 74 kilometers northeast of Muang district, Phang Nga province

SURAT THANI – The Seismological Bureau of the Thai Meteorological Department reported a 4.0 Richter earthquake at Khao Phang sub-district, Ban Ta Khun district, Surat Thani province at 12.18 pm. There has been no report of damage from the incident.

At 12.18 pm today, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 on the Richter scale was reported with the epicenter at Khao Phang sub-district, Ban Ta Khun district, in Surat Thani province, 74 kilometers northeast of Muang district, Phang Nga province.

However, no initial reports of damage nor tremors resulting from the quake have been made to the Seismological Bureau so far. The Bureau has called on those who may have felt or affected by the quake to report their experience to the Bureau.
