28 Year Old Russian Alexey Mikhaylov Falls to His Death in Chiang Mai

CHIANG MAI – Royal Thai Police have reported that Russian National, Alexey Mikhaylov, 28, died after his fall from the eighth-floor Casa Condo apartment where he lived with his family in downtown Chiang Mai on Thursday night.

Alexey Mikhaylov and his family had been staying in the rented premises at Casa Condo on Chotana Road for several months.

His wife (also a Russian National) said he had had suffered from stress caused by personal and visa extension problems, and depended on medication.

Police reported that Alexey wife and their six-year-old son returned to their room Thursday night and found his anxiety level had risen even further. He stood out on the balcony before jumping off it.

Rescue workers rushed him to Nakornping Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, which included broken legs and ribs and bleeding in the brain, police said. Police said it was believed he committed suicide.
